Comedy coming back to Okanagan clubs this fall – Kelowna News – Castanet.net

Comedy in the Okanagan is making a comeback after almost three years of being derailed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Club Comedy Series was slated to start back in 2019, now Train Wreck Comedy has announced plans to feature regular professional comedy shows in Kelowna and West Kelowna starting September 15 through 17.
The series will feature only top North American headliners on every show and will take place bi-weekly from Thursday to Saturday at Wings West Kelowna, Runaways Lounge in the Mission, and Freddy’s Brewpub.
“These shows will be like any show you would see at a big city comedy club, right here in the Kelowna area,” says Train Wreck Comedy’s Rob Balsdon.
“The Club Comedy Series was in the works before COVID hit and now the demand in Kelowna is even greater for professional stand-up comedy. There is no doubt Kelowna is ready for regular professional comedy shows.”
The Club Comedy Series kicks off with Canadian Comedy Award winner, Dave Nystrom who has filmed a stand-up special for Comedy Central in New York and won a Writers Guild of Canada Award as a writer for the hit Canadian comedy series, This Hour Has 22 Minutes.
Nystrom has also written for National Lampoon, the cult movie “Office Space”, and has shared the stage with Robin Williams, Dane Cook, Bob Saget, Patton Oswalt, and Harland Williams.
