Comedian Jo Koy will bring his 2022 Funny is Funny World Tour to Peabody Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, at 600 Auditorium Blvd., Daytona Beach.
The tour includes all new material from the renowned comedian. As one of today’s premiere stand-up comics, Mr. Koy has come a long way from his modest beginnings performing at a Las Vegas coffee house to now selling out the world’s most prestigious venues, including Radio City Music Hall (New York), Chase Center (San Francisco), The Forum (Los Angeles), Mall of Asia Arena (Manila, PH), Coca-Cola Arena (Dubai) and ICC Theatre (Sydney, Australia). The relatable comic pulls inspiration from his family, specifically his son.
Mr. Koy was seen on the silver screen in the Universal Pictures comedy “Easter Sunday,” which was in theaters Aug. 5. The feature film is loosely based on Mr. Koy’s life experiences and is set around a Filipino family gathering to celebrate Easter Sunday. In addition to the big screen, Mr. Koy’s single-cam comedy, “Josep,” landed a pilot order at ABC.
His highly anticipated fourth Netflix stand-up special was shot in March at the Forum in Los Angeles. The special is a follow up to his 2019 Netflix special, “Comin’ In Hot.” Mr. Koy has had four highly-rated and successful stand-up specials on Comedy Central and Netflix. In June 2020, the comedian released his first variety special, “Jo Koy: In His Elements” on Netflix in which he brings the laughs and beats to Manila, spotlighting local culture in a one-of-a-kind show featuring Filipino-American comedians, DJs and B-boys.
In 2021, Mr. Koy released his first autobiography, “Mixed Plate: Chronicles of an All-American Combo.” In this funny and moving memoir, he uncovers the stories behind his stand-up: the conflict, the drama and the laughter, as he struggles to find his place in the entertainment industry, his home and around the world
Ticket prices range from $41.50 to $181.50 plus surcharges and can be purchased at or 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday at the Peabody Box Office.
