Louis C.K. to perform at the Majestic Theatre this January – mySA
Comedian Louis C.K. is stopping in San Antonio
Love him or hate him, the decorated and controversial comedian Louis C.K. is on tour again, this time around stopping by San Antonio’s own Majestic Theatre. The historic downtown theater announced the upcoming show on Tuesday morning, September 13, via social media.
C.K., a former show runner, six-time Emmy Award winner, and three-time Peabody Award winner will perform stand-up comedy in the Alamo City on January 22, 2023.
C.K. is primarily known for his critically acclaimed, semi-autobiographical dark and sometimes surrealist FX comedy, Louis. His collection of stand-up specials, circulated on Netflix and other streaming platforms, also lead him to gain international fame. He has directed several films and written for comedians from David Letterman and Conan O’Brien to Dana Carvey and Chris Rock.
C.K.’s comedy legacy is colored by his 2017 sexual misconduct allegations, where five women came forward and claimed that C.K. had previously asked them or forced them to watch him masturbate in the throes of the MeToo era.
In 2020, after several years of inactivity following the allegations — which he confirmed to be true — C.K. released the special Sincerely Louis CK. In 2021, after announcing his international tour in 2019, C.K. commenced a well-attended comeback circuit with two sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden.
In 2022, he released the film Fourth of July.
Due to the “mature content” of the live show, tickets will only be sold to adults 18 and up. Tickets go on sale this Friday, September 16 at 10 a.m. Find them at majesticempire.com.
