Comedian Rosanne Barr is creating a new TV show that will air on the Fox Nation streaming platform.
The comedy special is expected to air in the first quarter of 2023, Variety reports.
“Roseanne is a comedy icon whose humor connects with the American audience like no other. Her ability to channel the challenges of everyday people and find the humor in it all has earned her the passionate following of millions of dedicated fans,” Fox Nation president Jason Klarman said in a statement. “We are thrilled to add her comedy special exclusively to the Fox Nation catalog.”
Barr has been away from the broadcast airwaves since 2018, after she left a reboot of her hit, “Roseanne.” She was cut from the series after backlash following a racist tweet about Obama administration official Valerie Jarrett, despite a public apology.
The show continued with the new name, “The Connors,” and it begins its new season this week.
This comes as Fox Nation tries to boosts its streaming programming with documentaries, recruiting stars such as Sharon Osbourne for a reality show, and picking up a series about the “Duck Dynasty” family, and an upcoming documentary series on the 150th anniversary of Yellowstone Park.
