The Most Popular Stand Up Comedian In Minnesota – KROC-AM

Do you have a favorite stand-up comedian? It's really hard for me to pick one because I love comedy and can appreciate all styles from squeaky-clean to over-the-top edgy. Bill Burr, Brian Regan, and Kevin Hart are favorites that immediately come to mind.
ShaneCo – yes, the diamond company – just published a story about Minnesota's most popular stand up based on Google trends. Get the results and check out the two big-name comics that are performing in Rochester later this fall below.
Kevin James began his career as a stand-up comic before getting a sitcom deal. The King of Queens premiered soon after that and ran for nine seasons on CBS. You can catch reruns on TV to this day.
Kevin James will perform at Rochester's Mayo Civic Center on Thursday, September 15th. Tickets can be purchased at the Mayo Civic Center Box Office, which is open Wednesday-Friday from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM, and are also available online.
Comic/Podcaster Bert Kreischer has a huge following and routinely performs (shirtless) in front of packed audiences in sold-out venues across the country. Bert's most recent stand-up special “Hey Big Boy” is streaming on Netflix. You can also catch up on two previous specials – “Secret Time” and “The Machine”.
Bert is scheduled for 2 shows on October 27th at the Mayo Civic Center.
Neither of those two are Minnesota's favorite stand-up according to Google Trends.
Google Trends was used to determine the most searched comedian in each state.
Eddie Murphy was the most searched across the country.
Norm MacDonald was #1 in the Midwest, but not in Minnesota.
Mitch Hedberg (far left) was the most searched comic in Minnesota.
Hedberg, born in St. Paul in 1968, was known for his deadpan delivery and classic one liners.
Unfortunately, Hedberg is no longer with us. The comedian was found dead on March 30, 2005 in a New Jersey hotel.
