Trevor Noah Announces New Netflix Special – TheWrap

Director David Paul Meyer re-teams with the Emmy winner for ”I Wish You Would,“ his third stand-up outing with the streamer
Trevor Noah is set to release a new Netflix stand-up comedy special, “I Wish You Would,” on Nov. 22. The comedian’s third special with the streamer will arrive a little over two weeks before he finishes his seven-year run as host of “The Daily Show.”
According to the official description, the special will cover Noah’s revelations about learning to speak German, modern communication, and his love for curry. It was filmed at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada.
Noah posted a brief teaser on Instagram showing him walking onto a stage in front of a packed audience.
The show will be helmed by Noah’s longtime collaborator David Paul Meyer, director of “The Daily Show” and the man behind Noah’s previous specials, including the Netflix originals “Afraid of the Dark” (2017) and “Son of Patricia” (2018). Previously, Noah executive produced, wrote and performed 10 comedy specials, beginning with 2009’s “The Daywalker.”
On Sept. 29, Noah announced that he would be leaving “The Daily Show.” His final night hosting will take place on Dec. 8. During an Oct. 13 appearance on “The Tonight Show,” the comedian told Jimmy Fallon that he wanted to depart while he still enjoyed the job and while people still enjoyed him as host.
“Leave while it’s still good, leave when you still love it, leave when you still have the energy to enjoy it,” he said. “I still have three months to have a ton of fun with everybody on the show, and I’m going to do that.”
In addition to Noah, executive producers are Bob Bain, Norm Aladjem, Derek Van Pelt and Sanaz Yamin of Day Zero Productions.
